Ward Lars Turley, 60 of Sperry, OK has left his earthly body and is now in heaven. He passed away on January 13, 2020 in Sperry, OK.

Ward was born April 7th, 1959 to Ward A. Turley of Ada Valley, AR & Sonja A. Larson of Amsterdam, NY, both whom have preceded him in death.

He is also preceded in death by his grandparents, Leonard and Pearl Turley of Tulsa, OK & John and Anna Larson of Amsterdam, NY.

He is survived by his two sons, Sean Turley of Perry County, PA and his children Sean Jr. & Frankie., Nicholas Turley and wife, Tori of Hampton, VA, and their three children, Zane, Parker and Evan; one older brother, Leonard J. Turley of Turley, OK, and his children, Stephen Tyler and wife, Hannah, Brandon Turley and wife, Melanie, Nathan Turley and Candace Johnson and her children: Kylee, and Phoenyx; one younger brother, James Turley and wife, Melanie of Morrilton, AR, and their children, Nathaniel French and wife, Caroline, Matthew French, and Hannah French; one younger sister, Nancy Turley of Little Rock, AR, and her daughter, Monica Turley and her children, Devlin and Landon; and Kyle Hilton and his children, Carly, Alyssa, Kyleigh Rose and Lexxon.; two aunts, Alice Larson of Amsterdam, NY and Anita Turley of Tulsa, OK; there are many cousins and friends all over the world too.

Ward went to High School at Rome Free Academy in Rome, NY.  Shortly after, he joined the USMC from 1976-1978.  He loved to travel; he wanted to see the world and he did. He has been from coast to coast here in America, and over to Greece to scuba dive and climbed mountains with his friends.  His loved playing the bass guitar with his friends in their band. He loved competitive billiards and he started doing woodworking, chiseling items from chess pieces to rocking horse toys for his grandchildren.

At this time, there will not be a funeral or memorial.  In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in his honor to The Wounded Warrior Project.
