Ruth Augusta Brodine

Ruth Augusta (Lightfritz) Brodine was born December 22, 1927 in Columbus, OH, to John Henry and Christine Maude (Doyle) Lightfritz. She passed away December 20, 2020 in Tulsa, OK.

Ruth volunteered her time for over 30 years in the Ohio Valley area for the Toys 4 Tots program. She was also a genealogist for West Virginia, Ohio and Pennsylvania and was a member of the VFW Post and Auxiliary #2716 in Weirton, WV. Ruth was also a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Skiatook, OK.

She is survived by her daughters, Jeanmarie Johnson and husband, Roger of Sperry, Ernestine Hamlin of Woodland, CA and Eva Buchanan and husband, Walter of Burgettstown, PA; son, Ernest L. “Lenny” Brodine III of Weirton, WV; 19 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Leonard Brodine II; son, John Thomas Ulery; daughter, Rocky Christine (Ulery) Kilonsky; grandson, Tilden Roger Johnson II; parents, John and Christine Lightfritz; and brothers, Robert Burlingame and Lawrence Burlingame.

Arrangements and services were entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home, Sperry.
