Christopher Allen "Chris" Trammel, Sr.

Funeral services for Christopher Allen “Chris” Trammel, Sr. 49, of Turley, OK, were held Thursday, November 19, 2020 at First Baptist Church in Sperry, OK. Brother Scott Carlson officiated. Casket bearers were CJ Trammel, Mike Juby, Scot Smith, Steven Elmore, Justin Christian, and Troy Abel. Honorary Casket bearers were Hallie Trammel, James Trammel, Tonya Hudson-Turner, Amber Perkins, Blake Mitchell and Joe Abel.

Chris was born December 9, 1970 at 8:02 am at Hillcrest Hospital in Tulsa, OK to Charles August and Mary Jo (Ecker) Trammel. He passed away Thursday, November 12, 2020 in his home, surrounded by his children, mother, and close family.

He went on to attend William Penn Elementary in Tulsa until 5th grade, then moved to Sperry, where he continued his education, graduating high school in 1990.

Chris attended Encouraging Word in Bartlesville in his youth. In 1988, during summer camp at Shepherd's Fold church camp, Chris prayed the sinner's prayer and followed through with believers' baptism. He was baptized that summer, by Brother Jason Elmore, at Encouraging Word. Chris and Tonya dated throughout high school and married March 15, 1992. Their union ushered in their beautiful children Hallie and CJ and although their marriage dissolved, they remained close friends. Chris and Tiffany welcomed their handsome baby boy, James, in 2003. Chris adored his children. The love language between the four of them was as unique as a fingerprint.

Chris, as he was called by most. Bub, by his endearing cousins. Dad by his three children and Christopher Allen when his attention was desired. He was a devoted father in his own right, son, nephew, cousin, friend and neighbor. Chris spent much of his life as a machine operator, working for several Tulsa area businesses over the years, such as Rogers Galvanizing, Whirlpool and Tulsa Bus Plant. But nothing filled him with as much joy as the time Chris spent volunteering at the Turley fire department. Chris dedicated around 10 years of his life serving Turley residents as well as assisting surrounding departments. He loved to watch football and his favorite teams were the Dallas Cowboys, the Colorado Rockies, and of course, the OU sooners. He loved to golf and even got an award for the highest score at the Brian Moss Tournament with his son CJ and cousins. He loved to watch western movies and was a big fan of Billy the Kid, he even made Hallie watch an hour-long documentary on Billy the Kid. He liked to watch funny video clips and music videos. He would show them to anyone who would watch them no matter where he was. He loved to share his passion for gaming and music with his children. Constantly showing them new videos, he had stumbled across or games he has become obsessed with. He always encouraged his youngest, James, to follow your dreams, no matter where they took you. With his son, CJ, he was always coming up with business schemes so they could give a little and get a lot. He looked forward to his baby boy James coming over for weekend visits or even the kids just stopping by to raid the fridge. He would constantly call his oldest, Hallie, and tell her crazy book ideas that he wanted her to write. He spent his life hoarding baseball cards and was more sentimental than he would have ever admitted. He was ornery and stubborn, but he was such a special man with such an amazing heart. He will be missed by many.

Chris is survived by his daughter, Hallie Christine Trammel of Owasso; son, Christopher Allen Trammel, Jr and girlfriend Lisette Gonzalez of Owasso, and their mother, his former wife, Tonya Hudson Turner of Owasso; son, James Lee Trammel of the home and his mother, Tiffany Taylor; brothers, Mike Juby and wife, Cindy of Sperry and Terry Trammel and wife, Cindi of Nowata; mother, Mary Jo Trammel of the home; many aunts, uncles, and cousins, and a host of extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Charles August Trammel; paternal grandparents, James and Lou Trammel; maternal grandparents, Earl Ecker and Rosie Smith; as well as many other aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends.

Arrangements and services were entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home, Sperry.
