Burny was born April 5, 1938 in Skiatook, OK, to O.R. White and Rosella Celestine (Whitlatch) Greenleaf. She passed away February 13, 2021 in Tulsa, OK.

Burny was a member of the Osage and Kaw Tribes. She grew up and received her education in Skiatook until 7th grade, when she moved to Sperry, where she would graduate in 1956. On June 20, 1963 Burny married Billy Joe Hoskins in Van Buren, AR. Together, Burny and Billy had seven children, John, Jack, Robyn, Laura, Karen, Chad, and Julie.  Burny worked for the Tahlequah Chamber of Commerce in 1966 and then the Tulsa Chamber of Commerce. She then went to work for Chief Freight lines as the Secretary to the Claims Manager until her retirement in 1982. Burny enjoyed many things throughout her life. She was a room mother for her children. She enjoyed and absolutely loved watching her children and grandchildren play sports. Burny was an avid and loyal OU Sooners, and Dallas Cowboys fan. Burny loved being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Burny helped start the Clothes Closet at First Baptist Church in Sperry and was also the head of the kitchen for VBS and Falls Creek for many years. She also started the Grub Grannies at First Baptist Sperry and they would take food to those who were not able to get out. Among other things, Burny loved reading her Bible, crocheting, putting together puzzles and spending time with her gal pals from school and church. But above everything, Burny loved her family, taking care of everyone she could, and being a good and faithful servant to our Lord. She was the epitome of a Saint. Burny NEVER met a stranger.

She is survived by her granddaughter, MaryBelle Juby-Cate and husband, Blake; daughter, Karen Franklin and husband, Tom of the home; sons, John Hoskins and wife, Jessie of Shawnee, KS, and Jack Hoskins II and wife, Charlene of Shawnee, KS; daughter, Laura Brown of Minot, ND; grandchildren, , Sean Worley, Jake Hoskins, Chris Hoskins, Billy Hoskins, Rodney Hoskins, Angie Hoskins Mill, Jack “Bubba” Hoskins III, Cody Brown, Jerod Greenleaf, Kalob Franklin, Elizabeth Brown Peterson, Kelly Tyler Brown, Lane Franklin and Chad Brown; 25 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; best friend, Barbra Tiblow; and many other relatives and friends.
