Wilma Ruth (Hixson) Glover

Funeral services for Wilma Ruth (Hixson) Glover, 89, of Skiatook, OK, were held Monday, January 8, 2024, at Johnson Funeral Chapel in Sperry, OK. Phillip Johnson officiated, and burial was in Rest Haven Cemetery in Sperry, OK. Casket bearers were Gary Glover, Jackie Glover, Roger Glover, Chris Glover, Justin Glover, Darrin Smith, Jimmy Brownlee, and Nick Shelton.

Wilma was born October 19, 1934, in Catoosa, OK, to William Mackenzie Hixson and Mildred Mae (Cole) Hixson. She passed away December 31, 2023, in Skiatook, OK.

Wilma’s greatest loves were her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. She was the true meaning of a mother. Wilma was her husband, Jack’s right arm, helping him with his plumbing company for a number of years. Wilma and Jack had been married for 54 years, and she would say, he was her first and last boyfriend. Wilma enjoyed cooking (and what a great cook she was!) for her family, and her family’s friends. As everyone knows, you know you never would have left her house hungry. Wilma loved her flowers and working in the garden. She also enjoyed mowing her yard (no one could mow it like her). If anyone mowed the yard, she always re-did it, with the exception of her sweet neighbors Sharon, and Ben and his wife, Dianne. She enjoyed spending time with them as well. She loved her home and took much pride in it. Wilma was a woman of faith; she loved her God. She was such a strong loving, kind person with a beautiful smile for everyone. We children got to say our goodbyes and let her know how much she is loved. There is no doubt that God gained the most precious soul the day he called her home. Wilma loved Elvis and we got to take her to Graceland a few times. So, as we lay her to rest, not only do we get to celebrate her new home in Heaven, but she also gets to celebrate Elvis’ birthday with him as well.

Momma, you will forever be in our hearts and thank you for being the “Best” mom there ever was. We love you forever.

She is survived by her sons, Gary Glover, Jackie Glover, Roger Glover, Chris Glover and wife, Melinda, and Justin Glover and wife, Ashley; daughters, Shirley Brownlee and husband, Jimmy, Lisa Crewe, and Lynda Smith and husband, Darrin; grandchildren, Dennis Glover Jr., Ronnie Glover Jr., Michael Glover and wife, Christine, Sarah McCutcheon and husband, Cody, J.R.
