Werner Knigge, 93, of Collinsville, Oklahoma, passed away February 14, 2026.
Werner was born on July 21, 1932, to Gustav and Wilhelmine Knigge, who preceded him in death.
He earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Tulsa. He retired from Rockwell International (formerly North American Rockwell) after many dedicated years of service as a Professional Engineer in Quality Engineering. He was also a longtime member of ASQC (American Society of Quality Control) and the American Legion, where he was honored for his work on NASA’s Apollo Space Program.
Werner loved his family deeply and cherished his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He was a kind-hearted and caring man, always “on the go” with purpose and a goal-oriented daily routine. Analytical and mathematical by nature, he maintained a positive outlook that lifted the spirits of everyone around him. As the anchor of his family, he brought loved ones together through cherished traditions, including Wednesday night pizza, Sunday dinners, birthday celebrations, and holiday gatherings. He also loved to travel, especially enjoying trips to Silver Dollar City in Branson, Missouri, and scenic drives along California’s Highway 1 (Pacific Coast Highway).
He lived by the biblical teaching, “Love your neighbor as yourself,” a principle reflected in the kindness and generosity he showed throughout his life.
He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Marjorie Knigge; his brother, Dr. Rainer Knigge and wife, Dr. Helga Knigge-Illner; his children, Denise Pruitt and husband, Rick, Sue Quimby and husband, Roger, Karin Cataldo and husband, George, Gilda Krantz-Smith and husband, Dave, and Kaye Campos and life partner, Daniel Cota; and his grandchildren, Stephen Pruitt, Sonya Pruitt, Elizabeth Krantz and wife, Julie, Diana Cataldo-Long and husband, Carson, Christine Cataldo, Michael Cataldo, Rachel Campos, Natalie Cota, Rebecca Cota, Jessica Quimby Harris, Quintin Quimby, and Heather Brown; along with many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Jennifer Krantz.
Werner lived a long and full life and will be remembered for his strength, kindness, and unwavering love for his family and love of the outdoors. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved him.
