Susan Leann (Brown) Gruenwald, 62, of Barnsdall, OK, was born February 1, 1963, in Claremore, OK, to Robert Russell Brown and Peggy Delores (Lynch) Hull. She passed away August 11, 2025, in Bartlesville, OK.

Susan had a deep love for the outdoors, whether tending to her garden or spending a peaceful day fishing. She enjoyed quiet moments at her kitchen table, working on puzzles, crafting holiday baskets, and caring for her fish tanks. A longtime resident of Barnsdall for more than 20 years, Susan dedicated herself to caring for others as a certified nursing assistant at the local nursing home. She was a proud member of the Cherokee Nation and cherished her Native American heritage.

She is survived by her son, William “Mike” Wallis and wife, Christina; son, Robert Brown; grandchildren, Robert “Robby” Brown, James Allen, Gage Whinery, MaKenzy Branstetter, and husband, Joshua, II, and Zakary Wallis; great-grandson, JB Branstetter, III; mother, Peggy Hull; brothers, Russell Brown and Tommy Brown and wife, Joan; sister, Cathy Lee; nieces and nephews, Jim Lee, Kristen Lee, Amber Brown, Jessie Brown, Jeremiah Brown, Jerusalem Brown, Lucy Anderson, Johnathan Brown, and Tommy Brown, Jr.; Madison Clark, Austin Clark, Ashley Finley, Grace Horton, and Jim Lee; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Wallis; father, Bob Brown; stepdad, LouDon Hull; brother-in-law, Jim Lee; and ex-husband, Barrett Gruenwald.

Arrangements were entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home, Sperry.
