Steven Wade Holtquist, 75, of Barnsdall, OK, formerly of Big Stone City, SD, was born October 20, 1949, in South Dakota, to Harold Ellsworth Holtquist and Lalah Mae (Walters) Holtquist. He passed away June 19, 2025, in Bartlesville, OK.
Steven attended school in Big Stone City, SD, where he was actively involved in high school sports. After graduation, he continued his love of athletics by playing in the local fast-pitch softball league. He also enjoyed music and took pride in his extensive collection of record albums. He also had a particular passion for Harley-Davidsons. Professionally, Steven worked as a carpenter in the residential construction industry before later retiring from the Milwaukee Railroad.
He is survived by his sons, Jesse Holtquist and wife, Nicole of Odessa, MN, and Chad Holtquist and wife, Cherrie of Port Orchard, WA; sisters, Paula Darr of Greenbriar, AR, and Patricia Holtquist of Big Stone City, SD; brother, James Holtquist of Oslo, Norway, and Wayne Holtquist and wife, Sharon of Cottage Grove, MN; several nieces and nephews; his adored friends, Deavon Marshall and Nevaeh Washington, who were by his side when he passed; and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by parents, Harold and Lalah Holtquist; brother, Rodger Holtquist; and brother-in-law, Edwin Darr.
