Sherrie Ann Hamilton

Memorial services for Sherrie Ann (Orcutt) Hamilton, 64, of Skiatook, OK, were held Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at Johnson Funeral Chapel in Sperry, OK. Brother Wesley Witcher and Brother Kevin Neil officiated. Honorary Casket bearers were Joey Hamilton, Mike Orcutt, Marshall Stevens, Bill Keeton, Jr., Browning Stevens, Mike Holmes, and Lloyd Inks, Sr.

Sherrie was born December 13, 1960, in Tulsa, OK, to David Warfield Orcutt and Rozella Mae (Stotts) Orcutt. She passed away July 15, 2025, in Tulsa, OK.

Sherrie worked for the Tulsa World for over 20 years delivering newspapers throughout the community. She was also a longtime substitute teacher for Sperry Schools and taught Sunday school at her church, sharing her time and heart with everyone witnessing for the Lord. A proud 8½-year breast cancer survivor, she found peace in the simple joys of life, like sitting for hours on her front porch, admiring her rose bushes and tossing feed to the chickens and ducks, playing cards, dominoes, and bingo, and spending time at the casino. She especially cherished days at the lake, Blue Hole, and her other favorite spots where she could go creek hopping. NASCAR races, Dallas Cowboys games, and OU football were some of her favorite things to watch, especially when she could enjoy them with her husband. Sherrie had a heart full of compassion and a boundless love for others, especially children. She loved going to her children and grandchildren’s ball games and was always their biggest cheerleader. She was known as a second mother to many and was affectionately called the “Team Grandma” by the little ones who flocked to her after games and practices for love and snacks.

She is survived by her daughter, Misty Stevens and husband, Thomas “Marshall” Stevens; son, Joey Hamilton; grandchildren, Khy-Ellah Browning, and Kay-Annah Stevens; brothers, Mike Orcutt and John Orcutt; sister, Marilyn Morrison; and host of nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; best friend and fellow breast cancer survivor (more like a sister), Paula Keeton of Sperry; the Keeton family of Sperry, Skiatook, and Collinsville; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Hamilton; parents, David and Rozella Orcutt; and brothers, Robert Orcutt, Will Orcutt and David Orcutt, Jr.

Arrangements and services were entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home, Sperry.
