Funeral services for Sara Marie (Wright) Wilson, 92, of Sperry, OK, were held Monday, June 16, 2025, at First Baptist Church in Sperry, OK. Pastor Rick Harvey officiated, and burial was in Floral Haven Cemetery in Broken Arrow, OK. Casket bearers were Nicholas Wilson, Kyle Davis, Wesley Wilson, Tyler Stokes, Richard Vertrees and Patrick Deao. Honorary Casket bearers were Perry Pampuro, Patrick Wilson, Brant Davis, Norman Davis, Charley Wilson, Spencer Davis, Mason Holley, Robert Holley and Adrian Becker.
Sara was born May 21, 1933, in Wenesoga, MS, to Nathaniel Delmar Wright and Icy Viola (Hall) Wright. She passed away June 9, 2025, in Tulsa, OK.
Sara’s biggest love was her husband, and her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved sewing, TU football and basketball, Dallas Cowboys football, and NFL Sunday and Monday night football. Sara was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Magic City Chapter 462 in Tulsa and was also a member of and volunteer for the Friends of Sperry Public Library, and Sperry First Baptist Church, as well as a volunteer at Sperry Public Schools for many years. Sara and her husband, David donated the biggest portion of property for the construction of Lake Road and Skiatook Lake and they were the owners of Wilson’s Tall Chief convenience store and bait shop from 1990-2017, as well as Wilson and Sons Dozer Service for over 30 years.
She is survived by her husband, David Wilson of the home; daughter, Cheryl Davis and husband, Norman, of Norman; sons, Larry Wilson and wife, Mandy of Tulsa, Ronny Wilson and wife, Cindy of Sperry, and Brian Wilson and wife, Nadia of Decatur, GA; 14 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; sister, Teena Hartsock of Lavergne, TN; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Nathaniel and Icy Wright; brothers, Johnny Wright and Jimmy Wright; and sisters, Clynese Winston and Geneva Pampuro.
Arrangements and services were entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home, Sperry.
