Funeral services for Ruth Fay (Curtis) Easley, 98, of Owasso, formerly of Turley, were held Thursday, October 12, 2017 at Memorial Park Chapel in Tulsa, OK. Brother Gordon Small officiated and burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery in Tulsa, OK. Casket bearers were Brady Coyle, Eric Coyle, Aaron Easley, Dwayne Hancock. John Hancock, and Jeff Easley.

Ruth was born on December 8, 1918 to Charles Franklin and Nellie Ethel (Nichols) Curtis in Tulsa, OK. She passed away October 7, 2017 in Owasso, OK.

Ruth (Granny) retired in 1980 from Tulsa Public Schools as head cook. Granny and Dad loved to fish in the various area lakes, particularly while at their place on Lake Eufaula. Granny held the record many times for the biggest and most catfish and crappie’s caught in the family. She was an excellent cook and always made sure everyone had plenty to eat. Granny loved to read, work puzzles, play solitaire, and was an outstanding seamstress. She worked in her beautiful iris garden until she was 90 years old. She followed, as well as attended her grandchildren’s sports, especially wrestling and soccer.

She is survived by her daughters, Joan Dake of Owasso, Donna Sandridge of Skiatook, and Carol Coyle and husband Fred “Pete” of Owasso; son, Charles Easley of Sperry; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sister, Hazel Sutterfield of Tulsa; and many other relatives and friends.

Those who proceeded her in death are her husband, Clarence Kenneth Easley; sister, Mildred Hammons; brothers, Harrison Curtis, Bill Curtis, and Ray Curtis; parents, Charles Franklin and Nellie Ethel Curtis; daughter-in-law, Betty Easley; sons-in-law, Ed Dake and R. Lee Sandridge; and grandson, Kenneth Jason Coyle.
