Ruby Marie Mitchell

Ruby Marie (Gray) Mitchell was born March 2, 1928 in Ochelata, OK to Truman and Mayola (Lomax) Gray. She passed away April 6, 2020 in Skiatook, OK.

Ruby was a bookkeeper and worked in an office for most of her life. She also owned a Daylight Donuts shop in Bartlesville. Ruby loved flowers and enjoyed working in her garden. Ruby loved God and her church. She was a lifelong member of the Skiatook Church of God and was a Sunday School teacher and an ordained minister. Ruby loved to minister to people and was always thanking Jesus for something. She would be the one in the grocery store when she found what she was looking for and would automatically say “Praise the Lord!” Ruby learned early on to be content with whatever. She was not a complainer. You didn’t have to wonder about her faith; she was always ready to share. Ruby loved family get-togethers and loved to get dressed up, even if she had no place to go. She couldn’t go anywhere without some bling on.

She is survived by her son, Marvin Mitchell and wife, Paula of Skiatook; daughter, Donna King and husband, Bill of Skiatook; grandchildren, Dana Mitchell-Neighbors of Owasso, Christina King-Maneth and husband, Dale of Olmitz, KS and Jeffrey King and wife Sarah of Skiatook; great-grandchildren, Trenton King, Riley King, Avery King, Kooper Maneth, Jordyn Neighbors, and Jenna Neighbors; sister, Frances Henson of Alamo, TX; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil Mitchell; brothers, Johnny Gray, JR Gray, Kenneth Gray and David Gray; sisters, Helen Winton, Linda Hughes and Kathryn Gray; and parents, Truman and Mayola Gray.

Arrangements and services were entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home, Sperry.
