Roy Dirl Pierson

Roy Dirl Pierson was born January 1, 1946, in West Fork, AR, to Clayton “Cap” Pierson and Edna (Pennington) Pierson. He passed away October 1, 2026, in Sperry, OK, at the age of 80.

Roy’s arrival into the world came with a story his family would cherish for generations to come. Born during a fierce snowstorm in West Fork, AR, Roy was in a hurry to make his debut. His father, “Cap”, flew out of the house and drove fast through the blizzard to fetch a doctor. However, by the time, Cap made it back through the snow with the doctor, Edna had already delivered Roy with the help of her mother, the midwife, whom everyone affectionately called “Granny”. Cap braved through the storm to get the doctor for no reason at all, but it made for an unforgettable start to Roy’s life. After starting school in Stickler, AR, the family moved around and eventually ended up in Tulsa Metro area, where Roy attended and graduated from Rogers High School. Throughout his career, Roy was known for his strong work ethic, and steady dedication, starting out at Mistletoe Express before eventually retiring from the Tulsa Housing Authority. Alongside his career, Roy had a passion for raising and selling cattle as a side hustle, taking great pride in working hard to provide for his family. Outside of work, Roy enjoyed life’s classic comforts. Nothing made him happier than spending a quiet day out fishing, setting off on new traveling adventures, or taking a long drive behind the wheel of a truck with real country music playing on the radio

He is survived by his wife, Mary Pierson; his daughters, Jennifer (Jenny) Pierson and Christy Pierson; innumerable family, whom he considered children; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters, Caroline, Sue Salyers and husband, Kenny, and Jean McCaslin; as well as a loving network of extended family and friends who will forever miss his steady presence, warm spirit, and hard-working nature.

He was preceded in death by his previous wives, Carrie Ann (Hagan) Pierson, and Wendy Pierson; son, Clayton Pierson; parents; Cap and Edna Pierson; and brother, Delton Pierson.
