Funeral services for Ronald Aaron Howard, 82, of Oologah, OK, were held Friday, September 26, 2025, at Full Gospel Christian Center in Nowata, OK. Pastor Jolie Blankenship officiated. Casket bearers were Bax Cornelson, Dalton Hayes, Scotty Mattison, Hudson Cornelson, Scott Mattison, Dustin Hayes, and Ronnie Davis.
Ronald was born August 2, 1943, in Tulsa, OK, to Aaron Eugene Howard and Nettie Ellen (Mills) Howard. He passed away peacefully on September 22, 2025, in Oologah, OK surrounded by his loving family.
Ronald graduated from Owasso High School in May 1961 and married his sweetheart, Nola Sue St. John, shortly after in June 1961. He was employed with Ramsey Winch Company for 31 years, working as a night-machinist supervisor and inventory control specialist before retiring in 2003. He enjoyed baseball, fishing, golfing, crocheting, and playing cards and dominoes with family. From 1981-1987, Ronald played putt-putt golf in several states, winning the National Amateur Putt-Putt Championship in 1983, Fayetteville, NC, and played alongside his daughter, Judy and his son-in-law, Scott.
He is survived by wife of 63 years, Nola (St. John) Howard; children, Ronola Mattison and husband, Scott, Connie Howard, and Judy Howard; grandchildren, Ashley Cornelson and husband, Bax Mindy Mattison; Scotty Mattison and wife, Christin, Jade Webster, Mallory Davis and husband, Ronnie, Aaron Applegate and fiancée, Summer, Alex Applegate and wife, Rebecca, Kaitlynne Sinclair and husband, Chase, Rynne Welch and fiancé, Jeffery; 25 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Betty Jasim and Mary Howard; many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Aaron and Nettie Howard; brother, Emmett Gayle Howard; half-brothers, Gene Howard, Gerald Howard and Wayne Howard; in-laws, Hollis and Anna St. John; brother-in-law, Everett St. John; sister-in-law, Mary Payne and husband, Mace.
