Memorial services for Ron Lancaster, 72, of Tulsa, OK, were held Saturday, September 20, 2025, at Johnson Funeral Chapel in Sperry, OK. Jerus Barnett officiated. Honorary Casket bearers were Ray Young, Travis Shrum, April Hollingsworth, Nancy Hohler, Harold Lazear, Jerus Barnett, Steve Stone, and Robert Taylor.
Ron was born November 21, 1952, in Tulsa, OK, to Alexander Bruce Lancaster and Emma Isabell (Myers) Lancaster. He passed away July 25, 2025, in Tulsa, OK.
Ron was a police officer with the Tulsa Police Department from 1975-1988. He was then a security officer 2nd in command at the Philbrook Museum of Art in Tulsa. He was in charge of writing all of the training policies, and all of the emergency procedure policies. He later became an Amateur (Ham) Radio operator in 1992, where he loved doing Fox Hunts, community service and storm chasing. Ron was a long-term member of the Broken Arrow Amateur Radio Club and the Rogers County Wireless Association. Ron ran the Youth at Heart Net from 2010-2024 bringing people together on the radio to interact with each other and become family. He also helped with several other nets like the Boredom Breaker net, and the Simplex net. He loved anything related to World War II. However, Ron spent most of his time being an amazing, active father, and then promoted to Grandpa, he was an amazing Papa to the grandkids.
He is survived by his children, Amanda Lancaster, Laci Lancaster, Guy Cochrane, and Chris Beller and wife, Amanda; “chosen” children, Mikele Phillips, Bonnie Bracken, and Russell Hidalgo; grandchildren, Cameron Beller, Gavin Flynn, Emily Stovall, Dakota Holladay, Haley Carroll, Emmalea Holladay; “chosen” grandchild, Jessica Hollingsworth; great-grandson, Silas Beller; sister, Rita Sorrells and husband, Jimmy; nephews, Jeff Chambers, Alex Chambers, Jason Sorrells, Jimmy Sorrells, as well as numerous others; several nieces; and great-nieces and great-nephews; and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bruce and Emma Lancaster; and son-in-law, Daniel Holladay.
Arrangements and services were entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home, Sperry.
