Robert John Lane

Memorial services for Robert John “Bob” Lane, 75, of Sperry, OK, were held Monday, October 14, 2024, at Osage Oaks Church of God in Sperry, OK. Pastor Mike Thomas officiated. Honorary Casket bearers were Anthony Bennett, Amber Rosander, Jesse Bennett, Glenn Bennett, Sean Cobb and Brenda Bennett. 

Bob was born March 3, 1949, in Coos Bay, OR, to Carlton Nealy Lane Geraldine Louise (Zottman) Green. He passed away October 3, 2024, in Sperry, OK.

Bob graduated from high school and joined the USMC 1969-1970. When he returned, he later met June Mick, and they were married in June 1973. Bob worked as a blacksmith for Union Pacific and later for Gunderson, Inc. manufacturing railcars and barges. After Bob retired, him and June moved to Sperry in 2011, where loved going to church, being outdoors, going hunting, fishing, and camping, and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife, June Lane; son, Robert D. Lane; daughter, Brenda M. Bennett and husband, Glenn; grandchildren, Amber Rosander, Anthony R. Bennett, Jesse D. Bennett; great-grandchild, Violet M. Bennett; sisters, Sue Caulkins, and Maryland Furman; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother and step-father, Geraldine and Roy Green; and brothers, Dale Green, Ed Lane, and Donnie Lane.

Arrangements and services were entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home, Sperry.
