Ralph Trego Jr., 96, passed away peacefully on June 27, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of hard work, dedication, and unwavering love for his family.
Ralph was born in Page City, Kansas, to Edward Ralph Trego and Pearl Cloe (Hudson) Trego. He graduated from Oakley High School with the Class of 1948 before proudly serving his country in the United States Navy.
On November 24, 1957, Ralph married Barbara Sidman of Wellington, KS. Together they shared 68 years of marriage, raised three children, and made their home in Skiatook, OK, where they lived for the past 55 years. It was there they built a life surrounded by family, friends, and countless memories. Following his military service, Ralph began a career with Boeing and retired with Rockwell after 30 years. Ralph enjoyed the simple things in life. He was a devoted Kansas Jayhawks fan who rarely missed a game, loved tending his garden, enjoyed watching movies and television, and had an impressive ability to keep up with technology. He loved learning about new gadgets and could often outsmart people much younger than himself when it came to computers, phones, and electronics. Above all, Ralph loved his family. Nothing made him happier than watching his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren grow. He took tremendous pride in each of them and loved hearing about their lives and accomplishments.
Ralph is survived by his wife of 68 years, Barbara (Sidman) Trego; his children, Laura Paslay and husband, Kevin, Tammy Wilson and husband, John, and Kevin Trego and wife, Diane; his grandchildren, Rene Leigh, Jessica Michalec and husband, Mickey, Jerrod Wilson, Desiree Mackey and husband, John, Tara Cox and husband, Ryan, Bryce Trego and wife, Kelsey, Danielle Miller and husband, Brian, and Kamie Brookshire and husband, Toby; 17 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; his brother, Bobby Trego; and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward Trego and Pearl Nye, and his siblings, Maxine Eversole, Edward Trego, Florence Brown, Betty Lewallen, and Darlene Schull.
Ralph will be remembered for his intelligence, his strong work ethic, his love for the Kansas Jayhawks, and the pride he took in his family. He lived a full life, worked hard, retired well, and left behind a family who will forever cherish the memories, stories, and love he shared with them.
A Celebration of Life service for Ralph was held Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at First Baptist Church in Skiatook, OK with Pastor Chad Thompson officiating. Honorary Casket bearers were Mickey Michalec, Toby Brookshire, John Mackey, Ryan Cox, Brian Miller, Jerrod Wilson, and Bryce Trego.
Arrangements and services were entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home, Sperry.
