Norma Roberta Whiteside

Memorial services for Norma Roberta (Mount) Whiteside, 84, of Tulsa, were held Wednesday, September 16, 2015 at Bixby Funeral Service Chapel in Bixby, OK. Pastor Adam Stang officiated.

Norma was born August 18, 1931 in Sapulpa, OK to David Franklin and Muriel Ethel (Oaks) Mount. She passed away September 13, 2015 in Tulsa, OK.

Norma was incredibly smart and skipped a grade in school. She graduated from Collinsville High School. She worked at Sunoco where she met her husband, Vic. She worked as a secretary in the typing pool and worked her way up to executive secretary to the vice president. She was a Toastmistress for 20+ years. She enjoyed traveling with them to different speaking engagements, especially her trip to New Zealand. She was a very friendly and outgoing person who never met a stranger. She made friends everywhere she went because she had a loving heart for people. She always put others’ first. She loved spending time with family and being around children. She was a strong-willed person who could do anything she set her mind to. When she was younger she loved to play cards, bridge, and canasta and she had to watch Jeopardy every day. She always wanted to have her hair done and never wanted to show a gray hair. She was loved by so many and will be missed dearly.

She is survived by her husband, Victor Whiteside of Tulsa; children, Tom Johnson of Jenks, Phillip Johnson, Jr. and wife Pam of Owasso, Jim Johnson of DeBary, FL, Teresa Trimble and husband Terry, and Ken Whiteside and wife Diane; grandchildren, Dean Johnson and wife Jodie of Jenks, Darla Crago and husband David of Bixby, Stephanie Manning and husband Sean of Jenks, Kami Johnson of Jenks, Stephanie Enjaian and husband Andrew Germantown, MD, Andrew Trimble and wife Chelsea of Augusta, ME, Kacie Whiteside of Oklahoma City, Wendy Johnson of Sperry, Brandon Johnson and wife Janell of Owasso, and Scott Johnson of Owasso; great-grandchildren, Kylie Johnson, Jared Johnson, Holden Crago, Austin Crago, Jackson Crago, Benjamin Manning, Elizabeth Manning, Harper Johnson, and one on the way; brother, Wendell Mount and wife Frankie of Hominy; sister, Anita Mount of Claremore; and many other relatives and friends.
