Funeral services for Norma Jean (Higgins) Mason, 77, of Tulsa, OK, were held Monday, February 2, 2026, at Johnson Funeral Chapel in Sperry, OK. Brother Jimmy D. Furr and Pat McCutchen officiated, and burial was in Rest Haven Cemetery in Sperry, OK. Honorary Casket bearers were Jeff Higgins, Jerry McCutchen, Pat McCutchen, Mike McCutchen, Jack McCutchen, and Roger McCutchen.
Norma was born June 5, 1948, in Tulsa, OK, to Edward Lee Higgins and Corine (Weston) Higgins. She passed away January 22, 2026, in Tulsa, OK.
Norma was a graduate of Sperry High School. After school, Norma became a stay-at-home mom and caretaker of her family and her home her entire life. She had a devoted love for the love of her life, her son, Derick, and her Savior, Jesus Christ. Norma had an unconditional love for all of her family and her friends. From time to time, Norma would volunteer her time at the YMCA in downtown Tulsa. She often enjoyed spending time with her sister and best friend, Lenora, watching TV, working on puzzles together, and cooking. They spent most days shopping, going to various thrift stores, going to lunch, and just overall enjoying each other’s company. Every Sunday, Norma and Lenora enjoyed listening to the Sunday Morning Gospel Show!
Norma, you will be deeply missed!
She is survived by her son, Derick Mason and Pat McCutchen; sister, Lenora Higgins; nephews, Jeff Higgins, Darrel Cole and wife, Lori, and Joey Cole and wife, Andrea; many great-nieces and great-nephews; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Corine Higgins; sister, Linnie Marie “Higgins” Cole; and brother, Eddy Lee Higgins.
