Graveside memorial services for Morris Waymon Barrow, 79, of Skiatook, OK, were held Saturday, April 15, 2023, at Osage Gardens Cemetery Veteran’s Pavilion in Skiatook, OK. Reverend Jeff Wooden officiated.
Morris was born December 15, 1943, in Pickens County, AL, to George Allen Barrow and Ruby Ellen (Harris) Barrow. He passed away April 6, 2023, in Skiatook, OK.
Morris was raised in Alabama and later moved to Oklahoma where he attended Sand Springs High School before honorably serving his country in the United States Army from 1966-1968. Morris worked hard to provide for his family and was proud to be a Vietnam veteran. Morris was a fitter and welder who owned his own business in Skiatook and contributed to many of the buildings and bridges in Tulsa and the surrounding area. Morris loved wrestling and coached both of his sons and many Skiatook boys while they were in elementary school, some of which went on to be high school state champions. Morris also enjoyed fishing with his sons and grandchildren when he wasn't working, involved with wrestling, or searching for "a good deal" at an auction or sale.
He is survived by his sons, William Barrow and wife, Karen, of Odessa, FL, and Wesley Barrow of Owasso; grandchildren, John Barrow and wife, Jami, of Skiatook, April Tyner of Sperry, Clara Barrow of Gainesville, FL, Haylin Barrow of Tulsa, Luke Barrow, of West Point, NY, and Jacob Barrow, of Murrells Inlet, SC; great-grandchildren, Axel, Weston, Oaklynn, Addyson, and Holden; sister, Doris Gatlin and husband, Charles, of Dodd City, TX; and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Ruby Barrow; brothers, George Junior Barrow, and Clyde Wesley Barrow; and sisters, Joyce (Barrow) Gianini, and Betty Louise (Barrow) Poe.
Arrangements and services were entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home, Sperry.
