Private family services.

Mindy Layne (Plake) Huett, 68, of Sperry, OK, was born March 16, 1951 in Kansas City, KS to Franklin Truman Plake and Patricia Ann (Myler) Davis. She passed away August 24, 2019 in Sperry, OK.

Mindy grew up in Tulsa, OK and graduated from Nathan Hale High School in 1969. She was the second child born of four. Mindy had an interesting and varied life as a lifeguard, waitress, security guard, secretary, jail matron and booking for the Tulsa Police Department. She also worked in Code Enforcement and later worked out of her home as a horse breeder and designed and made Arabian costumes for horses and riders. Her costumes were in high demand as far away as Austria and United Arab Emirates. The highlight of her life was when she met her future husband, Charlie "Babycakes" Huett on a wagon train in June of 1989. It was actual love at first sight. They were married two months later and in a short time were living in a beautiful home designed by Mindy on 10 secluded acres overlooking a pretty creek in Sperry, OK.

She is survived by her sisters, Carol Standeford of Sperry and Robin Howard of Little Rock, AR; brother, Scott Plake of Corpus Christi, TX; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles “Charlie” “Babycakes” Huett; father, Franklin Plake; and mother, Patricia Davis.

Arrangements and services were entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home, Sperry.
