Mary Eunice (Kimbrough) Womack, 85, of Collinsville, OK, was born April 22, 1940, in Laurel, MS, to James Marvin Kimbrough and Kathryn Elmira (Temple) Kimbrough-Harrington. She passed peacefully on March 25, 2026, held gently in the hearts of those who understood her journey.
Mary Eunice’s life was one of determination, deep family roots, and enduring resilience. She demonstrated an unwavering commitment to learning, earning an associate’s degree in early childhood development later in life from Co‑Lin Community College. She continued her academic path with remarkable dedication, completing a dual‑major honor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Mississippi in Hattiesburg and was also a candidate for a degree in Early Childhood Education. Her pursuit of education, especially at a stage where many begin to slow down, was a testament to her tenacity, curiosity, and belief in the value of personal growth throughout life. Mary was a woman of depth and complexity, shaped by equal measures of empathy and resolve. She possessed a perceptive, inquisitive mind and a strong preference for structure, often approaching the world with clarity and conviction. Solitude offered her space for reflection, and in that quiet she forged her own sense of order and meaning. She loved deeply, even when expressing or receiving that love did not always come naturally. Her family honors these truths about her, understanding that her intentions often ran warmer and kinder than her words could always convey.
Mary is survived by her former husband, Lynn C. Womack. Together they raised five children whom they held close, in their own way: Debra and Kenneth Bourghs, Laura and Floyd Brown, James and Cindy Womack, Paul and Kay Womack, and Nancy Womack and Andy Gagnon. She was the proud grandmother of: Damon Bourghs, Dallas Brown, Jaken and Stephanie Brown, Spencer Brown, Tearsa and JT Pryor, Alonna and Jordan Dean, Bryce and Bethany Womack, Kelsey and Cody Rasberry, Ronnie and Hannah Tuell, and Jean‑Paul Womack. She also delighted in her great‑grandchildren: Aidan Bourghs, Brooklyn and Cole Hudson, Briah and Asher Brown, John-David Pryor, Maggie and Rhett Tuell, and Avery Rasberry.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Kathryn Kimbrough; her brother, James Burl Kimbrough; and her sister, Linda Darlene Kimbrough Welch. Their memories remained close to her heart, and she now joins them in eternal rest.
Mary requested that her immediate family hold a private memorial in her honor, gathering to reflect on their lives together and draw strength from this time of remembrance. Mary Eunice’s life was marked by resilience, intellect, and an unwavering, if sometimes quietly expressed, commitment to those she held close. She leaves behind a family who recognizes the full breadth of who she was, honoring both her strengths and her struggles, and she now rests in the love with those who knew her best. Her memory will remain a source of reflection, understanding, and enduring love for generations to come.
Arrangements were entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home, Sperry.
