Funeral services for Marie June (Shetters) Bratton, of Tulsa, were held Thursday, January 26, 2012 at Johnson Funeral Chapel in Sperry, OK. Reverend Jim McColloch officiated and burial was in Osage Gardens Cemetery in Skiatook, OK. Casket bearers were Ray Shetters, Ryan Shetters, John Bennett, Robert Myers, Sam Duren, and Brent Twist.
Marie was born October 10, 1939 in Welch, OK to Cecil and Lura (Riley) Shetters. She passed away January 23, 2012 in Tulsa, OK at the age of 72.
Marie graduated from high school and then attended business school. She worked as a clerk typist. Marie attended Valley View Baptist Church W.M.U. She was a member of the Kihekah Steh Pow Wow Club and the USS Kitkun Bay Reunion Association. Marie enjoyed crocheting and cooking, she also enjoyed traveling across the country.
She is survived by her husband, William Ernest “Ernie” Bratton, Jr.; sister, Shirley Bowman; brothers, Ray Shetters and Bill Shetters; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Lura Shetters; brother, Cecil Allen; sisters, Linda Bennett and Jane Scoggins.
