Lois Lavonne Bowling

Lois Lavonne (Lind) Bowling was born on March 16, 1948, to Edna Lind. She passed away on August 8, 2026, in Tulsa, OK at the age of 78. Her life was defined by compassion, dedication, and love for both her family and the many communities she touched.

Lois served our country with honor and pride. Her sense of duty and responsibility led her to serve, and her commitment was felt by all who knew her. After her service, she spent many years working as a telephone operator, always approaching her work with diligence and professionalism. Her drive for knowledge shone through when she obtained her accounting degree, continuing to better herself and serve those around her. Lois’ passions were far and wide. She dedicated a significant part of her life to raising and showing Arabian horses, with her beloved horses proudly winning many shows and awards—a testament to her patience, skill, and commitment. Her devotion to animals extended even further; she was well known for her deep love of dogs, and welcomed many rescues into her life, providing them with a safe and caring home. This kindness and generosity reflected the beautiful spirit she was known for—a woman with an all-around good heart. A skilled knitter and crocheter, Lois found joy in creating and sharing her crafts with loved ones. Her love of reading spoke to her curious mind and thoughtful nature. Perhaps most importantly, Lois cherished time spent with her grandchildren, finding happiness and fulfillment in their company.

She is survived by her daughters, Gina Tate and Marnie Bowling; son, Gunner Bowling; grandchildren, Robin Tinsley, Sean Martin, Devon Baldwin, and Patricia Baldwin; great-grandchildren, Kristian Tinlsey, Kenny Tinsley, Jr., Kiya Martin, Hunter Martin, Lila Martin, and Blaine Martin; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gary Bowling; and daughter, Trista Stockstill.

Celebration of Life services for Lois were held on August 14, 2026, at Johnson Funeral Chapel in Sperry, where everyone gathered to pay their respects to this remarkable woman and celebrate a life so well lived. Phil Johnson officiated.

With gratitude for the time spent in her presence, friends and loved ones remember Lois for her warmth, her generosity, and her unwavering spirit. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, hard work, and the love she so freely gave to people and animals alike.
