Linda Marie (Smith) McGinnis

Funeral services for Linda Marie (Smith) McGinnis, 74, of Skiatook, OK, were held Friday, October 7, 2022, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Skiatook, OK. Brother Daniel Wager and President Gary Mawby officiated, and burial was in Rest Haven Cemetery in Sperry, OK. Casket bearers were Dave McGinnis, Justin McGinnis, Rick Cannon, Mike Cinko, Don Javier, and Heather Houston. Honorary Casket bearer was Kelly Wensman.

Linda was born March 9, 1948, in Freeport, IL, to Donald Minor and June Fayrene (Norton) Smith. She passed away October 4, 2022, in Tulsa, OK.

Linda had many skills and talents in addition to raising such a wonderful family. She studied at a health and business college and graduated at the top of her class. As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, she was the head librarian and almost single-handedly reorganized the library and it was very easy to find what you needed. She loved Christmas, making different candies, and crocheting. Linda loved her family and always will.

She is survived by her husband, Sid McGinnis; daughter, Kari A. Houston; son, Dave C. McGinnis; granddaughters, Heather Whitney-Houston, Jessica M. Hartwick, and Shelby McGinnis; grandson, Justin McGinnis; seven great-grandchildren; sister, Deborah Collins; niece and nephews; Mindy Wensman and husband, Kelly, Kyle Collins and wife, Julie, Ricky Cannon, Mike Cinco, and Donnie Javier; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and June Smith; sister, Sandy Javier; sister, Sandra Javier; brothers-in-law, Rick Collins and Stirman L. McGinnis; father-in-law, Jack S McGinnis; mother-in-law, Norma J. (Currier) McGinnis; 2nd cousin, Chloe Javier.

Arrangements and services were entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home, Sperry.
