With deep sadness and loving remembrance, we announce the passing of Linda Sue (Ecker) Smith, who departed this life on July 21, 2026, at the age of 82 was born on August 24, 1943, in Tulsa, OK to Earl Milton Ecker and Cora Rosella (Spencer) Smith. Linda’s long and meaningful journey was defined by her boundless devotion to family, her unwavering kindness, and her enduring sense of community, and her pride in being number 2 of 8 daughters.
Linda’s life was rich in family ties and cherished relationships, forming the cornerstone of her legacy. Throughout her life, Linda exemplified commitment to service and a passion for nurturing others. She was a purchaser for the Tulsa County Fairgrounds for 51 years and continued working part-time for another 16 years. She served as a Girl Scout leader for over five years, shaping young lives with a steady hand and a compassionate heart. Her dedication as a cheerleading sponsor inspired countless youth to pursue their ambitions and celebrate their achievements. Linda was an active member of the Sand Springs CB Club, where she forged lasting friendships. A devoted fan of the Dallas Cowboys, OKC Thunder and the Sperry Pirates. Linda brought enthusiasm and camaraderie into every game day, those moments echoing with laughter and shared joy among her loved ones. Her interests reflected her lively spirit and her enthusiasm for every aspect of life.
Linda leaves behind a devoted and loving family. She is survived by her son, Scot Smith and wife, Michele; and daughters Melissa Garrison and husband, Terry, Cathy, and Becky, each of whom carries forward her spirit and love. Her life was further blessed by her grandchildren, Jessica, Jennifer, Danny, Jeff, Dakota and wife, Sarah, Casey, Tyson and wife, Kylie, Kelsey and husband, Baylor, and Mavrik, who each experienced her warmth, wisdom, and encouragement firsthand. Her legacy continues with her great-grandchildren, Raylee, Bubby, Jacks, Emmy, Wesley, Whitaker, Lilah, and "baby girl” (on the way) her siblings, Earlene, Mary Jo, Willie, and Sandy; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Louie; daughter, Colonie Rae; her parents, Earl Ecker and Cora Smith; and sisters, Pat, Bobbie, and Bennie.
Linda’s legacy is one of love, generosity, and steadfast commitment to family and community. Her grace and kindness have left an enduring impact on all who were fortunate to know her.
Linda’s memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved her. Her legacy lives on in the faces and deeds of her family, her devotion to community, and the many lives she touched.
Funeral services for Linda were held Friday, July 31, 2026, at First Baptist Church in Sperry, OK, with John King officiating. Burial was in Rest Haven Cemetery in Sperry, OK. Casket bearers were Dakota Smith, Baylor Jenkins, Tyson Garrison, Marc Tillman, Mavrik Garrison, and Justin Christian. Honorary casket bearers were Joe Abel, Troy Abel, Rob David Sheperd, Steven Elmore, Johnny Moss, and Sonny Dickey.
Arrangements and services were entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home, Sperry.
