Lavetta Agnes Reed

Funeral services for Lavetta Agnes Reed, 89, of Sperry, were Thursday, Jan. 17, 2008 at the First Baptist Church in Sperry. The Rev. Donald Queen and the Rev. Andy Anquoe officiated, and burial was in the Rest Haven Cemetery at Sperry, under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home of Sperry.
Pallbearers were David Reed, Matthew Stewart, Kyle Hudson, Bobby Quirror, Steve Moody, Ryan Roberts and Kit Pehl.
She was born on Nov. 29, 1918 in Coalgate to Richard to Richard L. and Naomi (Woods) Hamersley. She passed away on Jan. 14, 2008.
She was a homemaker who enjoyed painting and fishing. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend.
She is survived by her son, Don Reed and wife Jessie; grandchildren, Rhonda Guirror and David Reed; daughter, Sharon Carmichael and husband Alan; grandchildren, Lisa Pehl, Matthew Stewart, Ken Carmichael, and Klint Carmichael; daughter, Glenda Roberts and husband Mark; grandchildren, Lacy Moody, Kyle Hudson, Ryan Roberts and Erin Collier; son, W.R. Reed and wife Tamara; brothers, A.J. Hamersley, Ralph Hamersley, Roy Hamersley and Elvis Hamersley; sister-in-law, Bessie Reed; many nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Reed; three brothers; and parents, Richard and Naomi Hamersley.
