Family Arranged Memorial Services will be held Saturday, December 6, 2025 at 10:30 AM in Vinita, OK at AliveChurch, 1472 W Hope Ave., Vinita, OK 74301.

Kenny Jay Smith, 71, of Coffeyville, KS, was born on June 29, 1954, in Coffeyville, KS to Marion Ray Smith and Joy F. (Allman) Smith.

He passed away on November 16, 2025, in Tulsa, OK, near his daughter and grandchildren.

Kenny retired from the 798 Pipeliners Union. Later in life, he worked as a custodian for Coffeyville Public Schools, where he eventually retired. He loved metalworking and welding in his shop. He created decorative outdoor lighting fixtures, custom firepits, and small decorative creatures for his grandkids and his mother. He was very inventive and often created the exact part he needed for a project. He enjoyed working on his trucks and spending time outdoors. He taught his granddaughter, Brekken, how to weld when she was eight years old, and he spent an entire afternoon building a robot out of spare parts with his grandson, Oliver.

He is now at peace, and his memory will live on.

He is survived by his daughter, Dr. Jennifer Youngberg (Matt); and his two grandchildren, Brekken and Oliver. He also leaves behind his dear mother, Joy F. (Allman) Smith, to whom he was always so helpful; and his siblings, Daryl Smith and Jody Ryan.

He was preceded in death by his father, Marion Ray Smith; and his brother, Jerry Smith.
