Funeral services for Kenneth Harlan “Ken” Thompson, 84, of Collinsville, were held Tuesday, August 4, 2015 at Shelter Free Will Baptist Church in Collinsville, OK. Reverend David Bilby officiated and burial was in Ridgelawn Cemetery in Collinsville, OK. Casket bearers were Daryl Cole, Charlie Miller, Bradley Cole, David Grose, Michael Cole, and Ronnie Cole.

Ken was born June 9, 1931 in Belgreen, AL to Harlan and Esther (Guinn) Thompson. He passed away July 29, 2015 in Tulsa, OK.

Ken was a Veteran of the United States Army. He was the Assistant City Manager in Lawrence, KS while finishing his Master’s degree. Ken was the City Manager in Prescott, AZ and from there went on to be the City Manager for Arkansas City, KS, Owasso, OK, Yukon, OK, Linn Valley Lakes, KS, Collinsville, OK, and Sperry, OK. He enjoyed playing golf, working crossword puzzles, reading, and hunting. Ken was a gun collector and enjoyed reading about the Civil War.

He is survived by his wife, Wanda Thompson; daughters, Debra Cole and husband Ronald, Janice Thompson, and Lisa Grose and husband David; stepdaughter, Pamela Morgan; grandchildren, Daryl and wife Misty, Michael and wife Brooke, Bradley and wife Danniel, Thomas Mangiamele and wife Yeanne, Valerie Underwood, Christine Mangiamele and Adam Grose; great-grandchildren, Alexis, Alana, Alyssa, Liam, Lucas, Nathaniel, Gabriel, Jacob, Oriana, Ethan, Victoria, Lauren, Lily, Hannah, Julia, and Leyton; sister, Frances and husband Edward Descher; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Harold Wayne Thompson; and parents, Harlan and Esther Thompson.
