Julia was born July 30, 1929, in Mannford, OK, to Orville Leonard Barton and Bessie Audene (Marrs) Barton. She passed away May 23, 2023, in Owasso, OK.
Julia was a woman of remarkable strength, compassion, and unwavering spirit. She has left us with a deep sense of loss. Born and raised in Mannford, she pursued her education until the eighth grade before her family moved to Sperry. Julia then attended Sperry Schools and went on to graduate from Sperry High School in 1947, embarking on her professional journey at Atlantic Oil immediately after. For two years, she dedicated herself to the company until she married James Edward Coyle on May 29, 1948. Julia then joined her husband in the dairy business near Sperry, partnering with James' father, Jim Coyle. During their years on the dairy, Julia and James had three children: Jimmy, Tommy, and Brenda. In 1956, a drop in milk prices prompted James to seek additional employment. He attended barber school and subsequently opened a barber shop in Sperry. Julia, meanwhile, ventured outside the home and found employment with Southwestern Bell Telephone Company. She faithfully served the company for 22.5 years. In 1979, Julia faced a serious car accident, defying the odds with a mere 2% chance of survival. Although the accident forced her to retire on disability in 1980, Julia's resilience shone through. She underwent months of rehabilitation and emerged with a determination to make a difference. Julia began volunteering for hospices and caring for sick family members and friends. She found joy in crocheting, engaging in church activities, and cherishing moments with her grandchildren. She will be remembered for her strength in the face of adversity, her unwavering love for her family, and her selfless dedication to others. Her life serves as an inspiration to us all. She leaves behind cherished memories and a legacy of resilience and compassion that will forever be etched in our hearts.
She is survived by her children, Jimmy Coyle and wife, Beth, of Sperry, and Brenda Wiens and husband, Max, of Sperry; daughter-in-law, Pam Coyle of Sperry; grandchildren, Michelle Weldon and husband, Tracy of Fresno, CA, Tonya Niver and husband, Ray, of Sperry, Brandon Smith and wife, Leanne, of Dallas, TX; Nathan Coyle and wife, Rachel, of Sperry, Amber McConnell and husband, Sean, of Sperry, Jamie Scott and husband, Bruce, of Sperry, Kyle Smith and wife, Savannah, of Owasso, Justin Coyle of Sperry, Jesse Wiens and wife, Bari, of Edwards, CO, and Abby Shump and husband, Chris, of Avon, CO; great-grandchildren, Trenton Sims of Tulsa, Tristan Sims of Tulsa, Tyler Niver and wife, Ashley, of Sperry, Walker Niver of Sperry; Ellie Scott of Sperry, Skye Ketcher of Sperry, Raynie Ketcher of Sperry, Axel Coyle of Sperry; Canton Smith of Owasso, Sheridan Weldon of Fresno, CA, Tegan Wiens of Edwards, CO, and Cashel Wiens of Edwards, CO; great-great-grandchild, Aubrey Niver of Sperry; and many other relatives and friends.
