Funeral services for Doris June “Judy” (Linthicum) Brown, 80, of Sperry, were held Monday, May 2, 2016 at First Baptist Church in Sperry, OK. Reverend Andy Anquoe officiated and burial was in Rest Haven Cemetery in Sperry, OK. Casket bearers were Jeff Bailey III, Jeff Bailey IV, Kevin Brown, Sr., Kevin Brown, Jr., Larry Brown and Matthew Brown. Honorary casket bearers were Kristin McAlister and Laura Brown.

Judy was born January 2, 1936 in Okemah, OK to Fred E. and Geneva Belle (Westmoreland) Linthicum. She passed away April 27, 2016 in Sperry, OK.

Judy worked for Bell Telephone Company, Sperry Public Schools, and Universal Field Services. She was a member of the Sperry Schools Board of Education and was a volunteer worker for the Sperry food bank and clothes closet. Judy was a member of First Baptist Church in Sperry for 60 years and served as a Grub Granny, prayer warrior and member of the bell choir. Judy was famous for her chocolate chip cookies and cherry cheesecakes. She faithfully attended all of her children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events and was a fanatical follower of all of children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events. Judy was also a fanatical follower of all OU athletics and enjoyed league bowling.

She is survived by her husband, Melvin Brown of Sperry; children, Kim Bailey and husband Jeff of Sperry, Kevin Brown and wife Crystal of Ramona, and Larry Brown and wife Annmarie of Cleveland; grandchildren, Jeff Bailey IV, Kristin McAlister and husband Ryan, Kevin Jr. Brown and wife Amanda, Matthew Brown and wife Andrea, and Laura Brown; great-grandchildren, Cooper Bailey, Morgan Whitfield, Jordan Whitfield, Paxton Burke, Alex McAlister, Reese McAlister, Kaylee Brown, Kendall Brown, and Kenzie Brown; brother, Donald Linthicum; sister, Freda Vaughn; numerous nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Geneva Linthicum; brothers, Bob Linthicum and Darrell Linthicum; and sister, Mary Dingler.
