Joyce Ellen Fitzsimmons

Memorial services for Joyce Ellen Fitzsimmons, 68, of Skiatook, were held Saturday, June 24, 2017 at Skiatook Church of God in Skiatook, OK. Reverend William Vance and Reverend Rick Jackson officiated and burial was in Ochelata Cemetery in Ochelata, OK. Honorary casket bearers were Tyler Fitzsimmons, Tim Fitzsimmons, Toby Fitzsimmons, Robby Childers, Rick Jackson and Aaron Phillips.

Joyce was born November 1, 1948 in Rahway, NJ to Thomas and Ester D. (Detlefsen) Fitzsimmons. She passed away June 17, 2017 in Skiatook, OK.

Joyce grew up in New Jersey and moved to Florida when Tim was five years old. Then in 2010, she moved to Oklahoma. Joyce was a housekeeper and a customer service representative. Joyce loved her grandchildren. She also loved animals, and loved to read, cook and knit. Joyce had a very giving heart. She loved God and her church family.

She is survived by her son, Tim Fitzsimmons and wife Tiffany of Ochelata; grandsons, Tyler Fitzsimmons and Toby Fitzsimmons of Ochelata; sisters, Linda Fitzsimmons of Sarasota, FL, Patricia Williams of Las Vegas, NV and Emmy Fitzsimmons of NJ; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Ester Detlefsen-Fitzsimmons; and father, Thomas Fitzsimmons.
