Johnny Ray Dodson

Memorial services for Johnny Ray Dodson, 79, of Skiatook, will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, June 10, 2017 at Avant Baptist Church in Avant, OK. Memorial services will be officiated by Pastor Raymond Henson.

Johnny Ray Dodson was born June 6, 1937 in Okemah, OK to Lonas and Pauline (Stout) Dodson. He passed away on May 29, 2017 in Broken Arrow, OK.

Johnny served in the US Navy for 2 years, and went on to pursue a career in the heating and air industry for over 50 years until his retirement in 2014. Johnny was a member of and active in  the Avant Baptist Church. He was active in every organization his three sons were, whether it be FFA, sporting events, rodeo, etc. Johnny loved going camping and boating with family, working in his shop, garage saling, and attending gospel music shows. He was a devoted Christian and family man.

He is survived by his wife Colleen Dodson; sons, Danny Dodson and wife Kathy of Sperry, OK, Dean Dodson and wife Lori of Skiatook; and Darrell Dodson and  wife Julie of Skiatook’ as well as 7 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents Lonas and Pauline Dodson, brothers Tollie Dodson, Sam Dodson, and Paul Dodson, and sisters Betty  Ann Lucas  and Lula O'Neal.
