Johnnie was born July 23, 1940, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to William Glenn and Erma Lucille (Navel) Lewallen. She passed away on Monday, November 21, 2022, in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
She was a homemaker who decorated cakes and made candies for special events, birthdays, and weddings. Johnnie loved children and took care of her own and the neighborhood children. She worked in the cafeteria at St.Pius X school for years, serving meals to the students. Later, Johnnie worked making meals and delivering meals for Meals on Wheels. She opened a mother's day out with her mother in law Leona Gertrude "Dolly" McBride, at nearby Ranch Acres Baptist Church, which led them to take care of children at events and for church service at Harvard Avenue Christian Church and move the mother's day program to the church of the Madelene. Once her kids were grown, she followed another passion, flowers, working as a florist for Tulsa Greenhouse and then The Blossom Shoppe, where she earned the title of Master Florist. Johnnie was religious, faithful to God and her family, and regularly attended church.
She is survived by her husband, William Earl McBride Jr, of 57.5 years. Her son, William Christopher, his wife, Celeste Kathleen Worthean McBride; daughter, Theresa Marie McBride, and her son William Alexandr McBride: and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her dog, Sugar; her father and mother, William Glenn and Erma Lucille (Navel) Lewallen; nephew, Terry Ray Makenzie; sister, Dimple Lee Bobbitt; and her daughter, Christy Ann McBride.
