John Patrick Langan

Funeral services for John Patrick “Pops” Langan, of Sperry, were held Saturday, August 13, 2011 at Osage Oaks Church of God in Sperry, OK. Reverend Rick Harvey and Reverend Adam Stang officiated and burial was in Rest Haven Cemetery in Sperry, OK. Casket bearers were Mike Teel, Mike McIntosh, Jerry Eubanks, Matt Pruitt, Justin Teel, and Martin Avalos. Honorary casket bearers were Larry Dedmon, Jonathan Spencer, and Mike Hamon.

John was born July 15, 1949 in Columbus, NE to Ralph and Monica (Merten) Langan. He passed away August 7, 2011 in Owasso, OK at the age of 62.

John was a served in the United States Navy. He was a Chaplain for the American Legion for 3 years. John was the Sr. Vice President for the Veterans of Foreign Wars of Claremore. He enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, and riding motorcycles. John loved to tell jokes. He enjoyed listening to country music and dancing. John enjoyed being with his wife.

He is survived by his wife, Edna Langan of Sperry; sons, Bill Langan of AZ, Mike Langan of AZ, and John Langan, Jr., AR, daughters, Sue Ann Carroll of AZ, Veronica Coger of MN, Kimberly Pennington, of TX, Cindy Reynolds of TX, brother, Paul Langan of SC; sister, Judy Peterman of NE; several grandchildren, and a host of many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Monica Langan.
