Funeral services for Jeffrey Joe Martinez, 40, of Edwardsville, KS, were held Thursday, April 4, 2024, at Johnson Funeral Chapel in Sperry, OK. Brother Gary Caughron officiated, and burial was in Rest Haven Cemetery in Sperry, OK. Casket bearers were Johnny Martinez, Jason Martinez, Jamie Martinez, Achilles Martinez, Paul Mutagamba, and Alfonso Martinez. 

Jeffrey was born October 16, 1983, in Greeley, CO, to Johnny Trinidad Martinez and Lydia (Gonzalez) Martinez. He passed away March 26, 2024, in Bonner Springs, KS.

Jeffrey was a forklift driver and a heavy machine operator. He was raised in South Dakota and attended Black Hills Gospel Assembly where he received Jesus Christ into his life. Jeffrey loved fishing, anytime, anywhere; sometimes, he may even reluctantly share with you his secret fishing hole location. Jeffrey was an outdoor enthusiast, even if it was just doing yard work, he enjoyed it. Mt. Dew, jerky, and sunflower seeds were Jeffrey’s staples. 

He is survived by his daughter, Jaydelin Martinez; parents, Johnny and Lydia Martinez of Sperry; sister, Juwell Mutagamba and husband, Paul of Tulsa; brothers, Jason Martinez of Tulsa and Jamie Martinez of Tulsa; nieces, Ariah, Olivia Mutagamba, and Elaina Mutagamba; nephews, Achilles Martinez of Tulsa and Sabia Martinez of Tulsa; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins; grandparents, Margarita Muniz of Churden, IA, and Cecaria Gonzalez of Greeley, CO; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Justin Martinez; niece, Jenna Martinez; grandfathers, Gilbert Gonzalez and Alfonso Martinez, Sr; and grandmother, Tomasa Martinez.

Arrangements and services were entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home, Sperry.
