James Lee Williamson

Funeral services for James Lee Williamson, 82, of Sperry, OK, were held Friday, June 21, 2019 at Johnson Funeral Chapel in Sperry, OK. Pastor Rick Harvey officiated, and burial was in Rest Haven Cemetery in Sperry, OK. Casket bearers were Caleb Turner, Lee Vogt, Chad Williamson, Shane Cavin, Donald Hudson, and B.D. Head. Honorary Casket bearers were Everett Turner, Neil Hines and John Burt.

James was born January 27, 1937 in Siloam Springs, to Gid and Pearl Edith (Thomason) Williams. He passed away June 18, 2019 in Claremore, OK.

James was a veteran of the US Army. He was a hard worker his entire life. He loved to read western novels, the Bible, and political mysteries. When James was able, he loved to work in the garden and do other work around the yard. Wheeling and dealing were also a specialty of his. He was a jokester but was serious when it came to work. James loved a practical joke, if he was not the recipient of one.

He is survived by his children, Jena Williamson-Hall of Albuquerque, NM; and Jace Lee Williamson of Sperry; granddaughter, Tamara Elizabeth Albaitari of Tulsa; sisters, Inez Ruth Davis and husband, Floyd of Sperry, Faye Luther and husband, Ray of Muskogee, and Helen Kinzey and husband, Curtis of Siloam Springs, AR; brother, Charles Williamson of Kingfisher; daughter, Jamie Howell of Locust Grove; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Gid Williamson; mother, Pearl Williamson; brother, Carl Williamson; and sisters, Norma Jean Mills, and Barbara McCarty.

Arrangements and services were entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home, Sperry.
