Harold was born March 29, 1942, in Booneville, AR, to Harrold Donald Tanner and Lorene Calvin (Smith) Lindsey. He passed away July 29, 2023, in Tulsa, OK.

Harold proudly served his country as a Corporal in the United States Marine Corps from 1959 to 1963. Following his honorable service, Harold took on a successful career in freight logistics, and was a co-owner of Rea-Tan, a transport company specializing in the movement of vehicles and various goods, until his retirement. Beyond his professional career, Harold had many interests and a huge zest for life. He was avid fan of old rock and roll music, and found joy and romance on the dance floor, where he met his wife, Joan. Together, they shared a remarkable bond and enjoyed a great life together. Harold was an enthusiastic sports fan, closely followed all of the Arkansas Razorback events, cheering on his favorite team with steadfast loyalty. He also found comfort and pleasure in raising and racing horses, and frequently attended different events at the racetrack. Family was first priority for Harold, and his devotion to his grandchildren was unparalleled. He was a constant presence at all of their sporting events, proudly attending every game or activity. His support and encouragement meant so much to all of his grandkids. Harold's sense of pride and joy extended with his son-in-law and grandson, who followed the footsteps by joining the esteemed Marine Corps. He was very proud of their commitment to serving our nation, and their shared bond as Marines only made their connection stronger. Harold leaves behind a legacy of service, love, and dedication that will forever be cherished by his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

He is survived by his wife, of 51 years, Joan Tanner; daughters, Amber Hensley and husband, William, and Cassandra Whittington and husband, Reed; grandchildren, Madison Hensley, Brody Hensley and wife, Allie, Maddie and husband, Timothy, and Zach; great-grandchildren, Cooper Hensley and Caden Hensley; 3 sisters; 1 half-brother; and many other relatives and friends.
