Frances Ann (Martin) Sixkiller

Funeral services for Frances Ann (Martin) Sixkiller, 88, of Claremore, OK, were held Thursday, January 25, 2024, at Johnson Funeral Chapel in Sperry, OK. Phil Johnson officiated, and burial was in Rest Haven Cemetery in Sperry, OK. Casket bearers were Gary Sixkiller, Trent Easter, Daniel Sixkiller, Bryson Dumas, Luke Sixkiller, and Ernie Maes.

Frances was born March 9, 1935, in Cleveland, OK, to George Marion Martin and Mary Gladys (Hooks) Martin. She passed away January 19, 2024, in Claremore, OK.

Frances worked as a cafeteria manager for Tulsa Public Schools for many years. She attended First Baptist Church in Sperry and loved teaching Sunday school. Frances loved growing irises and sewing and working on her various embroidery projects. Most of all, Frances loved spending time with her grandkids and great grandkids.

She is survived by her sons, Dennis Sixkiller and wife, Dana, and Gary Sixkiller and wife, Leah; grandchildren, Jenneffer, Sarah, Amie, Esther, Gary, Daniel, and Luke; 14 great-grandkids; sister, Pat Deerinwater of Longview, TX; nieces, Debbie Bono of Tulsa, and Donna Steel of Tulsa; nephew, Doug Bush of Tulsa; brother-in-law, Jerry Sixkiller; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Sixkiller; parents, George and Gladys Martin; and sisters, Lavona, and Marion.

Arrangements and services were entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home, Sperry.
