Floyd Davis

Funeral services for Floyd “Boggs” Davis, 90, of Tulsa, OK, were held Thursday, October 12, 2023, at Maranatha Baptist Temple in Collinsville, OK. Dale Davis and Pastor Andy Plunk officiated, and burial was in Norwood Cemetery in Siloam Springs, AR. Casket bearers were Johnny Nimmo, Charles Davis, Justin Davis, Cody Hudson, Noah McCormick, and Bill Ames.

Floyd Davis was born a twin at 2 1bs on March 25, 1933, in Watts, OK, to Mary and Oney Davis. He passed away, September 30, 2023, in Tulsa, OK.

Floyd married the love of his life, Inez Williamson on June 29, 1955, and together, they had four children and a multitude of grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Over the course of his professional journey, Floyd held various positions as a truck driver, serving companies such as S&H Kress, TOX, EverClean, and eventually OSU Medical College. In addition to his career, Floyd embraced his spiritual calling and was ordained as a minister in June of 1985. He dedicated several years of his life to pastoring the congregation at Ballard Bible Church in Watts, OK. Outside of his religious duties, Floyd found joy in various pursuits, including avidly following the games of the University of Oklahoma football team, nurturing his garden, cherishing quality moments with his beloved grandchildren, and, above all, immersing himself in the study of his cherished Bible. Floyd's commitment to his faith extended beyond his pastoral role, as he remained a dedicated member of Maranatha Baptist in Collinsville for many years.

He is survived by his wife of  68 years, Inez Davis; daughter, Gayle Fortenberry and husband, Dale of Oklahoma City; son, Dale Davis and wife, Barbara of Oologah; son, Greg Davis and wife, Amber of Dunedin, FL; daughter, Sheila Hudson and husband, Donald of Verdigris; 11 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren, with the 7th to be born in December; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Oney Davis; mother, Mary Davis; and 13 brothers and sisters.

Arrangements and services were entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home, Sperry.
