Funeral services for Erwin Wayne Foster, Jr., 65, of Sperry, OK, were held Saturday, October 11, 2025, at Johnson Funeral Chapel in Sperry, OK. John King officiated. Honorary Casket bearers were Joshua Shackelford, Jack Girdner, Nathaniel Ward, Melvin Byrd, Trinity Shackelford, and Raelynn Foster.

Wayne was born August 1, 1960, in Tulsa, OK, to Erwin Wayne Foster, Sr. and Mary Jane (Potter) Foster. He passed away October 2, 2025, in Smithville, OK.

Wayne proudly served his country in the United States Navy. After his time in the service, he worked as an airplane mechanic before finding his true calling as a farrier. He loved spending time outdoors fishing, playing golf, and racing, and he never passed up a chance to dance, sing, or go skating — he could make anyone dizzy on the dance floor! Wayne never met a stranger, and if he really liked you, you’d know it because he loved to give people a hard time in the best way. He was one of those people who could fix or build just about anything, and if he didn’t know how, he’d figure it out — all without the help of Google. Wayne will be remembered for his quick wit, kind heart, and adventurous spirit. He had a way of bringing laughter and light wherever he went, and his presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his daughters, Amanda Foster of Tahlequah, and Kimberly Henry of Sperry; grandchildren, Joshua Shackelford of Sperry, Trinity Shackelford of Sperry, Raelynn Foster of Sperry, Jayme Henry of Sperry; sisters, Janice VonDrehle of CO, Barbara Ward of Sperry, Christy Foster of Sperry, and Susan Fisher of Oilton; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his son, Randy Wayne; parents, Erwin Foster, Sr. and Mary Jane Potter; nephew, Little Daryll Ward, Jr.; his dog, Wrangler; and many others.

Arrangements and services were entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home, Sperry.
