Edwin Eugene “Gene” Crabtree, 84,of Ramona, OK, was born December 20, 1939, in Ramona, OK, to Tom L. Allen and Mary Elizabeth (Seabolt) Crabtree. He passed away August 20, 2024, at The Journey Home in Bartlesville, OK after a brief illness.

Gene attended school in Ramona and graduated in 1958. After graduation, Gene joined the Army Reserves. He was a sharpshooter and traveled the country doing shooting exhibitions. On December 15, 1993, Gene married the love of his life, Jo Gray McClung. They shared over 31 years of happiness together. Gene was a proud grandfather, and everyone loved Pa! Gene was a wise man, a Godly man and a prayer warrior. He served his Lord from the age of 28, and everyone who knew him knew what he stood for. Gene was the Owner of True Gospel Books and Music in the Quarters Shopping Center, and later the Washington Park Mall. He also owned New Beginnings in Tulsa, OK. A builder all of his life, Gene was a master brick mason and built hundreds of very beautiful homes in and around Bartlesville, Tulsa, Grove and many other locations. He was also a gifted musician and songwriter.

He will be greatly missed but is now with his Lord and Savior and his family who went before him.

He is survived by his loving wife, Jo Crabtree; stepchildren, Will McClung and Shannon (McClung) Ratzlaff; five grandchildren, Madilynn Rigney (24), Cagan Ratzlaff (17), Cooper Ratzlaff (10) all of Claremore, and Izabella Ann McClung (17) of Bartlesville; great-grand daughter, Lisa Sage, who is 2 years old; younger brother, Ernest Dean Crabtree of Ramona; sister, Rosella Ruth Kincaide, of Ramona; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his son, James Crabtree; parents; Tom and Mary Crabtree; and his eldest brother, Floyd Allen Crabtree.

Arrangements were entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home, Sperry.
