Graveside services for Dorothy Mae “Hotch” (Washington) Panther, 88, of Tulsa, OK, were held Saturday, January 23, 2021 at Charley Cemetery in Sperry, OK. Eric Wensman and Chiefy Tiger officiated. Casket bearers were Norman Panther, Zach Mead, Victor Girdner, Helawanotuk Williams, Jake Mead, and Ryan Panther. Honorary Casket bearers were Amy Panther Kvistad, Susan Cole, Mary Panther, Willie Panther, Mato Drapeau, and J.D. Cole.
Dorothy was born November 7, 1932 in Skiatook OK to Lewis and Cordelia (Tyner) Washington. She passed away January 20, 2021 in Tulsa, OK.
Dorothy was a home health caregiver for over 30 years. She was a strong woman and mother and had 7 beautiful children who were her life. She was proud of her children and grandchildren’s accomplishments. Dorothy enjoyed her visits with her grandchildren. She genuinely enjoyed her great-grandchildren visiting her, sharing smiles and laughter.
She is survived by her daughter Amy (Panther) Kvistad of North Chicago, IL; son, Willie Panther of Quapaw; daughter, Susan Cole and husband, J.D. of Barnsdall; daughter, Mary Panther and husband, Carthal of Tulsa; son, Norman B. Panther of Pine Bluff, AR; 19 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; brother, George Washington of Seminole; stepdaughter, Barbara Wisdom of White Oak; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her sons, Antoine Panther, Jr. and Paul Panther; parents, Lewis Washington and Cordelia McKee; 7 sisters; and 3 brothers.
