Donald Ray Marrs

Funeral services for Donald Ray “Donnie” Marrs, 81, of Skiatook, OK, were held Tuesday, October 4, 2022, at Skiatook Free Will Baptist Church in Skiatook, OK. Reverend Mitch Leonard officiated, and burial was in Rest Haven Cemetery in Sperry, OK. Casket bearers were Leland Prater, Timothy Dave Prater, Gary Robbins, John Ledterman, Jack Searan, Shon Rupert. Honorary Casket bearers were the Knights of the Roundtable.

Donnie was born February 2, 1941, in Sperry, OK, to Houston Aaron and Ruth Naomi (Jones) Marrs. He passed away September 28, 2022, in Tulsa, OK.

Donnie was a 1959 graduate of Sperry High School. He loved his country and served his country in the Oklahoma Army National Guard. Donne met the love of his life, Judy, on a blind date that led to their marriage on May 27, 1966. He worked as a Field Operations Manager for Brooks Oil Company until his retirement in 1998, then went into the real estate business with his wife, Judy to help her. He loved to hunt and fish. Every day but Sunday, you could find him in the morning in Sperry at the round table, spending time with friends and trying to solve all the world’s problems; you for sure didn’t want to disturb them. 

Donnie is survived by his wife of 56 years, Judy Marrs; Melissa Gardner, who was like the daughter they never had; numerous nieces and nephews; sister-in-law, Betty Marrs; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by parents, Houston and Ruth Marrs; and brother, Billy Marrs.

Arrangements and services were entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home, Sperry.
