Dennis Marvin Lee, 77, died Saturday, September 30, 2023, at the Claremore Veterans Center in Claremore, Oklahoma.
Dennis was born August 3, 1946, in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Marvin Otto Lee and Irene Madilene Miller-Lee. Dennis began elementary school at Barnsdall 55 in Tulsa Oklahoma. He graduated from Sperry High School in Sperry, Oklahoma in 1964. After graduation, Dennis and I attended Oklahoma State University and then he went to Southwestern at Weatherford.
In 1966, Dennis was drafted into the United States Army and was stationed in Europe. In 1967 he was sent to Israel into combat in Israel's Six Day War. He received an Honorable discharge in 1968.
In June 1970 Dennis married Rebecca Reed. They lived in Tahlequah and had one son, John David Lee-Reed. Dennis attended college at Northeastern State University at Tahlequah, Oklahoma with a major in accounting. Dennis and Rebecca divorced in April 1974.
Dennis's careers included Accounting, CPA, started his own oil business in Oklahoma and worked in management for various oil and gas companies including Williams Companies in Africa as a pipeline manager. He also was project manager and right-a-way agent for several pipeline companies all over the United States. He also once owned a gold mine in Colorado.
Dennis was preceded in death by his Father and Mother, sister Janet Lee, brother Russell Lee, and nephew Gary Don Barber Jr.
Dennis is survived by his son John David Lee-Reed and wife Melissa Reed; sister Bonita Barber and husband Gary Barber; brother Ronald Lee and wife Carole Lee; grandchildren, Bailey Irene, Zachary David, and John Gregory Reed; great granddaughter Logan Reed-Parker; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Memorial donations in Dennis' honor may be sent to the Claremore Veterans Center, PO Box 988, Claremore, OK 74018
Arrangements and services were entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home, Sperry.
