Funeral services for David Loyd “Our George” Elder, 73, of Collinsville, were held Saturday, January 23, 2016 at Johnson Funeral Chapel in Sperry, OK. Dr. Scott Carlson officiated and burial was in Rest Haven Cemetery in Sperry, OK. Casket bearers were Stephanie Elder, Carla Mowery, Maxwell Moore, Danny Moore, Dennis Elder and Dale Elder.

David was born July 9, 1942 in Tulsa, OK to Alvin Loyd and Callie (Ross) Elder. He passed away January 20, 2016 in Tulsa, OK.

David was a veteran of the US Air Force, attending basic training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio and was a service man in code decryption. He retired from American Airlines as an aviation mechanic and was also retired from Homeland. He also previously worked as an assistant for Gallant Background Checks. David enjoyed fishing, sailing, fly tying, fixing various things, and cooking for this wife and family. He loved spending time with his family and friends, listening to music, especially the Trans-Siberian Orchestra, playing mind trivia and loving on his four-legged grand babies. He was a good hearted, sweet, caring man, and loved caring for his wife Karin.  David was always one to help anyone and would give them the shirt off his back if need be.

He is survived by his wife, Karin Elder; daughters, Stephanie Elder and Carla Mowery; brothers, David Lennox, Dale Elder and wife Tina, Dennis Elder and wife Sherry and Danny Moore and wife Lura; sister, Pauleen Lennox; sister Tuyet; nieces, Melanie Moore, Marcey Elder, Aspen Moore, Brooke Harper, and Kristin Hassell; nephews, Max Moore, Scott Elder, Craig Elder, Marc Harper, Dakota Moore, Jeff Hassell, and Ryan Stone; cousin, Jim Elder; his beloved four-legged grandbabies; and many other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Loyd and Callie Elder and Denver and Teeny Moore; and grandma Ross and Pops Ross.
