Listen to Obituary

Darren Shane Walker was born September 21, 1983, in Claremore, OK to John Mitchell “Johnny” Walker and Debra Ann “Debbie” (Lenard) Walker. He passed away August 30, 2026, in Tulsa, OK, at the age of 42.

Darren worked for Office Depot for several years as a TSA Pre-Check Agent and had recently been promoted to Assistant Manager. He also worked at the Dream Center in Los Angeles, CA. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He was a profound man. Darren’s favorite thing in the world was being a dad, and he was the absolute best. Being a dad meant more to him than anything else on this earth. Just the thought of being a father brought tears to his eyes. He was just so proud of his children. Watching him with them over the years has been such a blessing and a beautiful thing to witness; and to see the love and devotion to them was unwavering. Darren was able to provide a level of patience and understanding but was also able to provide a level of discipline to help the kids grow and learn from a place of love and understanding. Darren was the epitome of the perfect husband, friend and partner. He was always so thoughtful, never complained about anything, and always gave his full trust and love. He was everything that Alex wished for, hoped for and prayed for; trust, love and a happy life. Darren provided trust, love and a happy life, and fulfilled every bit of that and more. He truly was the love of Alex’s life. She thanked God every day for blessing her with him as she had never would have known true love and happiness without him and their kids. Darren was the type that was always happy to help or lend an ear. He always worked hard and went above and beyond was asked of him and did so with a smile on his face. Darren craved knowledge about so many subjects and always sought out to educate himself. He enjoyed a good debate but always took the time to hear the other side. Some of his favorite hobbies were computers, and his love for gaming. As a kid, he loved playing baseball. He was always open to new adventures, and making wonderful memories

There were so many things that Darren overcame, from childhood to adulthood. But none of that ever shook his heart or his faith in God. Just a few weeks or so before he found his way home to God, Darren said he had no fear of death because he was going to heaven with God. Alex believes we all have found a certain comfort and peace with that. Darren was an amazing son, and husband, and the best father a child could ask for, and a man of God. He will forever be missed and loved more than any words could ever express.

Darren, we all love you. We miss you and will hold you in our hearts forever until we meet again in God’s Kingdom.

He is survived by his wife, Rosemary “Alex” Burrows; his children, Stevie Annette Walker, Julian Sanford Alexander; parents, Johnny and Debbie Walker; sisters, Juliann Lancon and husband, Logan, and Tosha Walker; brother, Bradley Spaulding; Tammy Spaulding; grandmother, Francis Lenard; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, JD Lenard; and uncles, Michael Eugene Lenard, and Shawn Dee Lenard.
