Cheryl Ann Christmas, aged 77, passed peacefully on Christmas day surrounded by her loving family. Cheryl was born on November 17, 1948 to Catherine (French) Wilkins and Charles Wilkins, in Louisville, KY. Cheryl was the cherished bride of Clifford Christmas for 41 blessed years. Cheryl was blessed by God to be the mother to 5 glorious children, 23 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. Each life joyfully celebrated by Cheryl, everyday of her life. Her words “I Love You” were never far from her lips and a constant in the lives of all who were privileged to be cherished by a loving example of Christs love on earth.
Cheryl graduated from DuPont Manual High School, located in Louisville, KY in 1966. Her many vocations included Mother, Wife, Property Manager and Home Health Caregiver. Cheryl’s peaceful spirit, faith, love and attention to the smallest detail made her a favorite among her patients. Cheryl thrived caring for others and spent endless hours devoted to feeding the hungry, caring for the sick and visiting the lonely. She was also instrumental in quietly devoting countless hours to others in the service of her beloved St. Henry’s Catholic Church. Cheryl was always assisting her beloved Cliff with various projects and always by his side, spending time with her family, playing Yahtzee with the grandchildren, fishing at the lake, laughing with her Old Fogeys Club, and fellowship with her dearest friends. It was her sparkle we all sought and her joy that made the day worthwhile. We were truly blessed to be loved by such a woman as Cheryl Ann Christmas. Her kindness, joy and love were limitless. She truly loved her neighbors with a kindness and devotion not seen by many today. She was our Angel and we are blessed to have been gifted her by God.
Cheryl was preceded in death by her parents Catherine and Charles Wilkins; brothers, Darryl and Bruce Wilkins.
Cheryl is survived by her loving husband Clifford Christmas of Owasso, OK; her 5 treasured and beloved children, Tautia Robb Benz (Brian) of Tulsa, OK, Steven Robb (Julie) of Colorado Springs, CO, Bridget Lasley (Brandon) of Owasso, OK, Tiffani Hicks (Matt) of Owasso, OK, and Charles Christmas (Valerie) of Asheville, NC; 23 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild; brother, Stuart Wilkins of Smithfield, NC; godsons, Stuart Wilkins II of Bradenton, FL and Matthew Kendall French of Louisville, KY; goddaughter, Wendy Pickering of Owasso, OK; numerous nieces and nephews, cousins, and loving extended family and friends.
