Catherine D. (Stephens) Mallernee was born to Orvil and Hazel (Doyel) Stephens in Arlington, CA on February 2, 1936. Catherine was at home when she left this world on August 21, 2022, at the age of 86.
Catherine worked for and retired from Farm Credit Services. After retirement, she moved to Kimberling City, MO where she enjoyed the Ozarks and views of the lake. Catherine was generous with her time and volunteered at the Red Cross, Kimberling City Public Library & Women's Shelter among other charitable organizations.
Catherine spent many years in Missouri before settling in Oklahoma to be closer to her daughters and their families. She loved Sunday dinners at the shop, buggy rides in the country, and of course, her beloved Morkie, Katie J.
Catherine’s most important things in her life were her family and friends, that she loved so very much. Catherine, Cathy, Khaki, Grandma, Kay, Deloris, CD, Aunt Catherine, Sis, and Mom was loved by so many.
Catherine was preceded in death by her husband-Jay Mallernee; her parents; and her sister, Maxine Cline. She is survived by her daughters, Sherry Mallernee of Skiatook and Beth Shockley and husband, Terry of Buffalo, KS; her grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; brother, Jerald Stephens of Wichita, KS; sisters, Norma Reich of Portland, OR and Naomi Gray of Mansfield; MO; her nieces, nephews; and many other relatives and friends.
A Celebration of Life Reception is planned on September 10, 2022, from 1:00pm to 4:00pm. Location is DoubleTree Hotel, Springfield, MO, 65803. Address is 2431 N. Glenstone.
