Carl Gene Barton

Funeral services for Carl Gene "PeeWee" Barton, age 76, of Sperry, were held on Saturday, March 29, 2008 at the First Baptist Church in Sperry, OK.
The Rev. Andy Anquoe and Rev. Don Queen officiated, and burial was in the Rest Haven Cemetery at Sperry, under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home of Sperry.
Pallbearers were Jim Burt, James Bryan, Gail Dilley, Larry Eddings, Mike Juby and Mace Payne.
Honorary pallbearers were Buddy Kennedy and Paul Thomas.
He was born on July 12, 1931 in Sperry to William Leonard "Bill" and Rosa Mercy (Brown) Barton.
He passed away on March 26, 2008.
He graduated from Sperry High School in 1949 where he was quarterback on the football team and also excelled in basketball and baseball. He joined the U.S. Army and served in Korea from 1950 to 1952.On Aug. 1, 1952 Carl married the love of his life Reba Jean Dilley.
They made their home in Sperry and were married for more than 55 years.He was a warehouse supervisor at Insulation Services in Tulsa. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, woodworking, going to Flint Creek and watching western movies, especially John Wayne.
He was a deacon at First Baptist Church of Sperry.Survivors include his wife, Reba Barton of the home; sons, Ricky Barton and wife Kimmy of Sperry, and Randy Barton of Tulsa; daughters, Carla Ready and husband Gary of Sperry, and Carol Folger and husband Rob of Tulsa; grandchildren, Jamie Ready, Sperry, Austin Barton of Irving, Texas, Taylor Barton of Sperry, Brooklyn Clews of Tulsa, Jenifer Ready of Sperry, Ben Barton of Tulsa, Zachary Barton of Tulsa and Sydney Folger of Tulsa; sisters-in-law: Donna West of Tahlequah, Doris Rogers of Claremore, Colleen Raimondi of Skiatook, and Janice Parker of Oologah; brother-in-law, Gail Dilley of Mannford; many nieces, nephews, family members and friends.
